Şanlıurfa’s Germuş Church turned into tourism center
The Germuş Church, a partially destroyed place of worship in the southeastern province of Şanlıurfa, has been turned into a tourism development center.
As a result of works carried out around the church, which is located within the borders of Dağeteği village about 10 kilometers from the provincial center, a file was prepared for the region to become a tourism development center, Culture and Tourism Director Selami Yıldız said.
“The Germuş Church and its vicinity will become a center of attraction thanks to the decision. Accommodation and facilities for rural tourism and camping have been established,” Yıldız said in a statement, adding that restoration work on the church had been prepared thanks to the Şanlıurfa Provincial Administration and would be implemented with the approval of a preservation council.
